Suzanne de Baecque's beauty routine
You are on the bill for the theatrical success of the new season, Un chapeau de paille d'Italie*, directed by Alain Françon, with Vincent Dedienne, and we will be able to see you in the cinema next January in the new film by Caroline Vignal, Iris et les hommes.
What are your secrets to staying in shape?
Eating well, and it's sometimes complicated. For example, at the moment, there are a lot of fast food restaurants around the theater where I'm acting. So I prefer to cook at home and I reheat my meals on site. I buy organic, unprocessed products at the grocery store. I don't skip any meals, and if I'm at the theater, I limit myself to one glass of alcohol because I have to last until 2 a.m. When I'm not filming, I love swimming in a Parisian pool near my home. Otherwise, acting every evening is already a sport in itself.
How do you take care of your skin?
I have had irritable and unbalanced skin for a long time, so I am followed by a dermatologist who prescribes pharmacy treatments. And since the filming of Jeanne du Barry, a film in which I played one of Louis XV's daughters, I have become a fan of La Reine Capricieuse Cream, of which I am the muse.
Could you tell us about this collaboration?
It turns out that Alexandre Styker, who launched this cream, played the valet of the king's daughters in Maïwenn's film. As my skin was dried out by the overdose of powder, he had me and other actress friends try it. This 100% natural % treatment is unrivaled in restoring comfort to my fragile skin. The story is beautiful, with the star ingredient being honey from Alexandre's hives in the Vosges. The only problem is that its production is limited each year, as it depends on its harvest (lareinecapricieuse.com).
What are your other beauty routines?
I take care of my hair by avoiding washing it every day. Once or twice a week with the Christophe Robin purifying shampoo is enough to remove impurities while preserving my lengths. I finish with a mask. Every day, I scrunch my ends with Carita Fluide 14 oil. This maintains them, while giving them a nice movement.
And what about makeup?
I draw on products discovered from hairdressers and makeup artists. They are an essential link during the preparation times for important events, during which I oscillate between stage fright and the desire to look my best. They are the ones who made me try Erborian's BB Cream, perfect for my sensitive skin, as well as Shiseido's anti-dark circle stick, which is easy to apply. I also like Dior's Rouge 772, a soft raspberry that I associate with my role as Lisette in Alain Françon's La Seconde Surprise de l'amour. In addition to its powdery violet scent, it brought me luck with a nomination for Female Revelation at the 2022 Molières, as well as the Syndicat de la Critiques' Theatrical Revelation of the Year Award.
* Until December 31, at the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin, Paris 10th
